Leanne Hart is the new chair of a networking group of under 35’s working in the process industry in the North East and Yorkshire.

Leanne, 25, is a project engineer with the international project management and services company AMEC in Darlington.

The network group’s recent meeting heard a progress report on NEPIC and its Yorkshire counterpart Yorkshire Chemical Focus whose aims include attracting more school students to consider science-based careers. NEPIC has estimated that around 1000 technicians will be needed in the North East for new job opportunities in the expanding biotechnology sector
